Professor Abayomi Arigbabu
Honourable Commissioner
Professor Abayomi (Adelaja) Arigbabu is an education-sector leader with a long academic career in mathematics education and extensive experience in university administration. Trained in Mathematics at the University of Lagos (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) and later earning a doctorate in Mathematics Education at the University of South Africa, he has built a multi-decade record spanning teaching, research, and strategic pedagogical planning, with scholarly publications and roles as an external examiner/assessor for postgraduate and doctoral work.
Before his current public-service role, he served as Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), one of Nigeria’s specialist institutions for teacher education, where he led academic and institutional development. He now serves as Ogun State’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, bringing his academic leadership and system-level education management experience to policy execution and sector reforms across basic, secondary, and tertiary education in the state.
